NHS Constitution

 

National Honor Society was founded in 1921 and is sponsored by the National Association of Secondary Principals. The Hazen Chapter of the National Honor Society has been in existence since 1996. Membership for National Honor Society is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership and service. Required for initial consideration in the Hazen High School Chapter of NHS is an overall 3.25 gpa following the first semester of the Sophomore year. An invitation is required to apply for membership. Students under consideration are required to complete an application which addresses the qualities of character, leadership and service in their lives. A faculty committee determines the final selection of new members. Members must maintain their grade point average, attend NHS meetings and participate in projects.
